Scandal? Godsend? Who Should Care? The NAR proposed settlement vis-à-vis Family Law

This timely presentation will focus on issues related to real estate in Marin, San Francisco and the greater Bay Area, to include the state of the market itself, the recent National Association of Realtors (NAR) settlement as it relates to buyers and sellers in our area, and more specifically how Harold and Katie’s unique expertise and skill sets can assist all attorneys in Marin with real estate matters. Harold and Katie will present specific examples of real-life real estate transactions they have been involved with, representing divorcing clients in the sale of their marital homes. And, they will discuss the value they add as real estate professionals to the Marin County Bar Association.

Katie Fones is a lawyer-turned-Realtor, who practiced family law in Maryland and California for a combined 17 years. In 2016, she transitioned from the full-time practice of law to selling residential real estate in San Francisco and the Bay Area. Her experience as a family law lawyer and a credentialed mediator has proven invaluable to her real estate clients, many of whom have been divorcing couples.

Attorneys, judges and other legal professionals have relied on her knowledge, judgment, integrity and experience and on her ability to easily explain complex real estate matters to clients. Harold Deblander is a Certified Divorce Real Estate Expert, and a Real Estate Broker-Associate with Sotheby’s International Realty, focusing on the counties of San Francisco, South Marin, and North San Mateo.
