Noted San Francisco Chronicle Sports Columnist, Ann Killion, drew 75 attendees to hear about Sports and the Law at the September 28 General Membership meeting.

“You cannot separate politics from sports,” she remarked. The topics ranged from 49er’s Colin Kaepernick controversial kneeling during the National Anthem to the U.S. Women’s Soccer termination of Hope Solo. She touched upon her coverage at the recent Rio Olympics and the embarrassing Ryan Lochte accusation.

Real estate enthusiasts asked about the status of the Raiders stadium and 49er followers wanted to know about the choice of coaches following Jim Harbaugh’s departure.

If you were fortunate to be in the audience, Ms. Killion fielded questions about her interviews with the great sports celebrities, peppering humorous stories with each. She’s still waiting for the opportunity to interview Kaepernick.

Her talk was candid, warm, and insightful – everything you would expect of Ann Killion. It’s not a surprise that she has such a remarkable following on her sports blog and in the Chronicle.
